EUFOR sent a Message to BiH Politicians: Act in accordance with Dayton, we are ready to fulfill the mandate

On the occasion of recent media statements about the security situation and calls for action due to the announcement of the arrival of the authorities from BiH. of the RS entity to Srebrenica, EUFOR announced.

They say that the interpretation of the military aspects of the Dayton Peace Agreement is the responsibility of the mission, which has an executive mandate of the UN Security Council.

“EUFOR continuously monitors and assesses the security situation. EUFOR’s mandate, given by the UN Security Council, includes ensuring the preservation of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and political independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that domestic actors act in accordance with these fundamental principles, prescribed by the Dayton peace agreement and resolutions of the UN Security Council,” the statement said.

EUFOR, Operation “Althea”, is ready and committed to fulfill its mandate in an impartial manner, they note and add:

“EUFOR, as part of the EU’s integrated approach, aims for a stable, sustainable, peaceful and multi-ethnic Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is irreversibly on the way to EU membership”.

Let us remind you that the President of the RS Milorad Dodik announced the arrival of the delegation leading this BiH entity arrival in Srebrenica on May 2, the day when the resolution on Srebrenica is planned to be adopted in the UN General Assembly.

The SDA party presidency asked the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and EUFOR to prevent provocative gatherings in Srebrenica.
