Additional EUFOR forces have arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) these days, and some soldiers of the European military mission walked the streets of Sarajevo yesterday.
Journalist reports that the soldiers walked around the city in a relaxed manner and looked at the shop windows and that they caught the attention of passers-by.
To recall, after Russia invaded Ukraine, military forces in Europe are being reorganized to maintain the security of all countries. Accordingly, EUFOR has sent additional troops to BiH from Austria, Bulgaria, Romania, and Slovakia, with motorized platoons arriving.
In the past days, videos of armored vehicles on the streets of BiH were published on social networks, and these are vehicles arriving as part of the Althea mission.
A few days ago, 500 troops arrived under the plan, the United States (U.S.) Humvee vehicles were deployed earlier, and Romania recently sent a platoon consisting of armored personnel carriers, as well as logistics and support vehicles, which will also be deployed.
The security situation in Europe is considered disturbed, but it is stated that there are no open threats in BiH. EUFOR said that in addition to what has arrived in BiH so far, another 3.500 reserve troops are on alert and can be deployed at any time. Besides that, as a precautionary measure, France will report several training flights of jet planes over BiH sky in the coming period.
