The European Commission has backed 2 million euros for Intervet, a project for the internationalization of vocational education and training systems, led by the social cooperative Uniser from Forlì.

Intervet aims to improve the mobility of students, teachers, and headmasters in the Western Balkans and has been rewarded as a “concrete example that meets the needs of the enlargement countries”, EU Commissioner for Education, Mariya Gabriel, said.

The pilot project involves associations, vocational training schools and SMEs from the 6 Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia), as well as 8 Member States (Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Malta, Spain, Slovenia and Poland).

Brussels intends to “connect education and professional training to the needs of the markets of work “of the region,” particularly in sectors with high job creation potential, such as manufacturing and agriculture”, Gabriel added.
