The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH was informed by the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Cairo that the evacuation of foreign citizens from the Gaza area was temporarily suspended due to damaged infrastructure during yesterday’s bombing of the Rafah crossing, on the Palestinian side.

According to unofficial information, activities are being undertaken to evacuate the first wounded persons from that area to Egypt, after which the process of evacuating foreign citizens would continue.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH is in continuous communication with the countries in the region and international organizations on the ground, such as the International Organization for Migration (IOM), which has promised its support, all with the aim of realizing the evacuation of BiH citizens from the Gaza area as soon as it becomes necessary.

We remind you that so far 54 people have applied for evacuation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is, the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Cairo, of which 19 are citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the rest are foreigners who are related to citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
