Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and his fiancee Georgina Rodriguez have reportedly chosen the location for their wedding.
According to media reports, the famous couple will get married in his native Madeira next summer.
They are set to say their “I do” after the 2026 World Cup in Funchal Cathedral, with the reception to be held in a luxurious hotel. The location they have chosen also has a special significance, as it is about 2.4 kilometers from the city hospital where Ronaldo was born and five kilometers from the base of one of the clubs he played for while growing up – Nacional da Madeira.
The famous athlete has already mentioned in an interview that a wedding could be inevitable, and newspapers in their print editions add that contacts have already been made to hold everything in Funchal during the summer of 2026.
According to media reports, this wedding promises a million-dollar success, likely the most expensive event of this century, with estimated costs of around 50 million dollars.
The same program also pointed to Madeira as a possible location and mentioned world-famous names on the guest list, such as David and Victoria Beckham, Rafael Nadal, and Neymar.
Although there is still no confirmation of when and where it will take place, the Portuguese star has already confirmed the engagement, and it will most likely be in Portugal.
