The investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes is located at the Lješevo location in Ilijaš municipality, where he coordinates the work of authorized persons participating in the process of exhumation of mortal remains by order of the acting prosecutor.

The incomplete remains of one person were found at the said location, and it is assumed that they belong to a victim of Bosniak nationality who disappeared in 1992 in the area of the municipality of Ilijaš – announced the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The announcement states that this location is an extremely complex area to search, and the excavation of the terrain is being carried out in detail.

After the exhumation, the remains will be sent for further forensic-medical processing and identification of the victim through DNA analysis.

The forensic pathologist, representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons (INO) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the International Commission for Missing Persons, the necessary workers are present at the exhumation, and the location is secured by the police officers of the CS MOI.
