Explosions in the Red Sea off the coast of Yemen were reported after sightings of drones and missiles in two separate incidents, British maritime authorities said.

Two drones were spotted before two explosions occurred five nautical miles from the ship, which is 50 nautical miles west of the city of Hodeida on Yemen’s west coast, the UK’s Merchant Marine Operations Authority warned.

In a separate incident, explosions were heard and missiles were seen four nautical miles from the ship, which was 60 nautical miles from Hodeideh, authorities said.

There is no information if the incidents involved the same vessel, which authorities have not identified. Also no details of the cargo or indication of where the ship or ships were sailing or from where they sailed were released.

In both incidents, the vessel and crew are safe.

British authorities have not released the origin of the reported drone or missile and no one has yet claimed responsibility.
