Growth of exports from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Austria over the past three years has been steadily rising, and coverage of exported imports has reached a record 155 percent, was stated on Thursday at a meeting of Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Sarovic and Austrian Ambassador to BiH Ulrike Hartmann.

Minister Sarovic pointed out that last year Bosnia and Herzegovina exported goods worth more than a billion BAM.

“It is very important that we do not export raw material to Austria, but commodities and components, mainly from the metal industry, where there is a lot of knowledge and the work of domestic companies,” said Minister Sarovic.

Welcoming the dynamic and successful cooperation of the two countries, Ambassador Hartmann emphasized that Austria only imports more from Bosnia and Herzegovina than it exports.

He added that significant number of Austrian investors and firms operate in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The speakers agreed that steady growth of cooperation guarantees increased cooperation in the coming years and that the key to further progress is building the road infrastructure, particularly Corridor 5C.
