The Tourist Board of the Canton of Sarajevo started this year’s fair promotion of the tourist offer of the Canton of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Vakantiebeurs international fair, from January 11 to 14 in Utrecht.

The Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board worked on tourism promotion at that fair, with the Funky Tours travel agency. Vakantiebeurs is the largest tourist fair in the Benelux countries, which is intended for business and general audiences.

“With a joint performance, with an agency that successfully runs tourist tours, through conversations with numerous representatives of travel agencies and tour operators, we presented the possibilities for a fulfilling stay and a unique experience that Canton Sarajevo can offer tourists from the Netherlands. They are most interested in adventure tourism, as well as research of cultural and historical landmarks,” it is stated.

As they emphasize, interest in our tourist offer prevailed during all days of the fair promotion. Potential tourists are most interested in our natural beauty, i.e. outdoor tourism; skiing on the Olympic mountains, camping, hiking, cycling, mountain climbing…

“Our tourist destination is also interesting for them because of its rich history, culture, dark tourism, the Olympics…,” it was pointed out.

As stated in the press release from the Canton Sarajevo Tourist Board, during the past year the Netherlands was among the first 20 countries, recorded according to arrivals and overnight stays in Sarajevo Canton, out of a total of 196 recorded countries and areas from which visits were registered.
