Hasanović previously made a guilty plea agreement with the state prosecutor Dubravko Čampara. Now Hasanović is left to serve nine more months in prison, because the three months he spent in detention were calculated in the sentence.
According to the verdict, Hasanović left to Syria in September 2013 by plane from the Sarajevo Airport. He went to Turkey first, then illegally entered Syria and joined the terrorist organization ISIS.
Judge Mirsad Strika said that as mitigating circumstances the Court took the facts that Hasanović has no prior convictions, that he is a father of two children, as well as his behavior upon return from Syria.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH gave up on the count of indictment that charged Hasanović with illegal possession of weapons. Regardless of that, the bombs, rifle and ammunition found with Hasanović are being seized for general safety.
Hasanović’s restrictive measure of traveling prohibition has been extended until he gets to prison.
