After a new great success at the European Senior Championships in Tel Aviv and points she won as the vice-champion of Europe in the category +78 kilogram, the best judoka from BiH, Larisa Ceric, is finally in the 1st place on the World Ranking List.
This is the new large success of our sports heroine, whose points at this year’s Grand Slam in Yekaterinburg, the third place at the Masters in Saint Petersburg in 2017, and the first place at the Grand Prix in Zagreb last year, largely helped in achieving her newest success.
This is the first time since the independence, and probably for the first time ever, that an athlete from BiH takes the first place on one of the senior ranking lists of the world.
“Judo BiH is proud and selector Branislav Crnogorac is proud of our sports heroine. All the sporting friends of BiH are proud as well. This is a great signal for all those who are taking care of our sport that BiH has many top athletes, and that they should finally pay attention and adequately support those who can represent our country in the upcoming Olympic Games. Larisa Ceric has been representing our country in the best way for many years. This sports heroine holds proudly a flag of BiH and resists all the difficulties in her work. The results of Larisa Ceric should be admired, she made us very proud and she is the brightest example of how we should fight for our one and only homeland,” as announced from the Judo Federation of BiH.
