On the initiative of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization approved 476 000 US dollars for flood affected areas.
The Ministry sent a request to FAO for providing an urgent aid in BiH for rehabilitating of flood affected areas.
FAO approved aid in the amount of 476 000 US dollars and notified the Ministry.
“Aid is attended for cattle breeders in BiH affected by the May floods in line with FAO rules which will be implemented within the project with that implementation will begin as soon as possible,” BiH Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Boris Tučić said.
According to him, funds will primarily be used for the purchase of fodder, and to carry out other project activities, including the six-month provision of technical assistance to BiH in the process of renewing the livestock.
“We expect to get a project contract from FAO and after the conclusion and appointment of the project coordinator on behalf of BiH and begin the implementation of the aid project,” Tučić said, the Ministry released in a statement.
