Farmers in the Federation of BiH announced Protests

Farmers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina have announced protests if they are not paid incentives for the first quarter of this year by July 1, said Ermin Veladžić, President of the Assembly of the Association of Farmers of FBiH.

Veladžić said that the farmers will block border crossings, the highway, the headquarters of the FBiH Government, and that they will demand the resignation of the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, and the Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, Kemal Hrnjić.

He said that farmers do not accept the explanations of the relevant minister Hrnjić that the decision on the payment of incentives depends on the adoption of the strategy of agriculture and rural development.

Veladžić reminded that in February 2023, the previous Government of the FBiH passed a decree that enabled the payment of incentives according to the old strategy.

“Allegedly, Hrnjić requested that the decision on the payment of incentives go to the FBiH Government, but as we found out, it did not receive the green light from Nikšić,” said Veladžić.
