The result of all these activities, he added, is a fully defined and established system of transplantation medicine in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“This is a step forward and it’s a basis for a continued development of transplantation medicine in FBiH. The system was based on best world models and continued growth depends from health professionals but also the level of collective consciousness of citizens about the necessity of organ donating and organ transplantation,” Mesihović said.

According to him, there is also a so called logistics of transplantation, i.e. necessary supporting mechanisms.

“We own the logistics of transplantation and we are in the final stages with the Defense Ministry of BiH which will help if necessary,” he said.

Within today’s press conference, one of the possibilities of the information system, a direct video link with one of the hospital coordinator in the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo and the Clinical Hospital in Mostar.
