FBiH Government Approves 3.8 Million BAM In Aid To Private Employers And Crafts

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), at a telephone session, upon the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, adopted a Decision on determining the final list of beneficiaries of financial assistance to private employers, crafts and other self-employed activities in the FBiH with the aim of maintaining existing jobs for 2025 for November 2025.

This decision also determines the amount of allocated funds under the Regulation on measures of financial assistance to private employers, crafts, and other self-employed activities in the Federation of BiH, with the aim of maintaining existing jobs for 2025.

An integral part of the final list is also the list of beneficiaries whose appeal against the Decision on determining the final list of beneficiaries of financial assistance for October 2025 was accepted.

Total funds for the implementation of this decision in the amount of 3.807.900 BAM were secured in the Budget of the FBiH for the Federal Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, and are allocated to 9.200 beneficiaries. Part of the funds in the amount of 41.850 BAM is allocated to 61 beneficiaries whose appeal against the Decision on determining the final list of beneficiaries of financial assistance for October 2025 was accepted.

The final list of beneficiaries of financial assistance will be published on the websites of the Government of the FBiH and the Federal Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts.

The transfer of financial assistance funds to the transaction accounts of beneficiaries will be carried out by Union Bank in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Federal Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts on the basis of this decision.

The Federal Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, the Federal Ministry of Finance, the Tax Administration of the FBiH, and Union Bank are tasked with implementing this decision, each within its competence and obligations in accordance with the Regulation.

As explained, the reason for adopting this decision is the implementation of the Regulation, which aims at sustainability, preservation of existing jobs, and ensuring liquidity support for 2025 for private employers, crafts, and other self-employed activities.

Positive opinion on the proposal for a decision on introducing a temporary safeguard measure during the import of steel and steel products

The Government of the FBiH adopted the Information of the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry and the Federal Ministry of Trade regarding the Decision on introducing a temporary safeguard measure during the import of steel and steel products.

In conclusion, the Government of the FBiH gave a positive opinion on the Proposal for a decision on introducing a temporary safeguard measure during the import of steel and steel products submitted by the act of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH dated December 30th 2025.

The Prime Minister of the FBiH is authorized to deliver this conclusion to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH as the opinion of the Government of the FBiH on the Proposal for a decision on introducing a temporary safeguard measure during the import of steel and steel products.

As stated, among other things, in the Information, by the act of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, and in accordance with Article 43, paragraph 2 of the Law on Foreign Trade Policy of BiH, the opinion of the Government of the FBiH was requested on the Proposal for a decision on introducing a temporary safeguard measure during the import of steel and steel products, for the purpose of forwarding it into further procedure.

It is also stated that this decision proposes the introduction of a temporary safeguard measure in the form of an increased customs duty during import into the customs territory of BiH, starting from February 1st, 2026, in order to prevent the occurrence of damage that is difficult to remedy to domestic production. The safeguard measure in the form of an additional customs duty is proposed for six categories of products, i.e., tariff codes, for a period of 200 days from the date the Decision enters into force.

The attachment also included an explanation which, among other things, states that the Proposal for the decision was made at the proposal of the company Nove zeljezare Zenica d.o.o., and that after analysis and verification of data it was determined that increased imports threaten to cause serious damage to domestic production, it was announced by the Office of the Government of FBiH for Public Relations.
