The federal government passed the Decision on the allocation of funds determined by the FBiH Budget for 2023 to the Federal Ministry of Finance from the economic code “Current transfers to other levels of government and funds – cantons” in the amount of 200 million BAM.
It is about the allocation of financial assistance to cantonal budgets for the implementation of structural reforms and financing/co-financing of infrastructure projects in a ratio of 50 percent to 50 percent.
The criteria for the distribution of funds to the cantons are the number of inhabitants according to the 2013 Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in BiH, with the application of weights for the Posavina and Bosnian-Podrinje cantons.
Based on the established criteria, the distribution to the cantons is as follows: Una-Sana Canton will receive 23,903,093 BAM, Posavina 7,601,971 BAM, Tuzla 38,928,152 BAM, Zenica-Doboj 31,878,226 BAM, Bosnia-Podrinje 4,152,192 BAM, Central Bosnia 22,278 .273 BAM, Herzegovina-Neretva 19,419,727 BAM, West Herzegovina 8,301,059 BAM, Sarajevo Canton 36,178,423 BAM and Canton 10 the amount of 7,358,882 BAM.
The users of the funds are obliged to submit the report on the expenditure of the funds to the Federal Ministry of Finance no later than December 31, 2024.
The Government of the FBiH will transfer the funds to the deposit accounts of the cantonal budget within 60 days from the date of entry into force of the decision, in accordance with the Rulebook on the method of payment, allocation and distribution of public revenues in the Federation of BiH.
