“You have, let’s say, several veterans’ cooperatives that gather veterans. They will probably apply to the public invitation, said Salko Bukvarevic, Minister for Issues of Veterans of FBiH, explaining that at the same time, without favoring anyone, he thought on cooperative of veterans from Sarajevo which produce souvenirs and sell them at the famous Sarajevo tunnel.

He recommended the allocation of the money from the cantonal budgets for hiring veterans to his colleagues at the meetings that he had with them and representatives of the veteran population. And if it happens, says the Minister, there will be jobs for unemployed demobilized veterans and children of fallen soldiers.

In Bosnian Podrinje Canton (BPC) this year planned to allocate 300,000 BAM for employment and 100,000 BAM for employment of veterans.

“Around 50 projects applied for self-employment, mainly in the fields of agriculture and handicrafts, and two to three projects for employment. Slightly older people applied there, demobilized soldiers who are lacking work experience for retirement,” said Zijad Briga, Minister for Issues of Veterans of BPC.

They had a similar project in this canton last year and, according to Minister Briga, there will be as long as there are interested unemployed veterans.
