Federal Ministry secured Construction Material for Returnees

Federal Minister for Displaced Persons and Refugees Edin Ramic Mayor of Prijedor Milenko Dakovic and end-users signed contracts on Wednesday for the allocation of construction materials for 15 returnee families.

The total value of the signed contracts is 165,000 BAM provided by the Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees. In the past term in the Prijedor area, the ministry provided money for the reconstruction of about 50 housing units to returnees, allocating 505,000 BAM.

Minister Ramic clarified that this was mainly a donation of building materials for the reconstruction of houses, but noted that the intention of the Ministry was to be present throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina and to provide support to all returnees.

Returnees from the Prijedor area have been included in other programs of the Ministry, so in the past period about two million BAM were provided for projects of infrastructure, sustainable return and humanitarian programs, as well as programs intended for young people.

The beneficiaries of the assistance delivered wer selected through a two-year program of a Federal Ministry for Displaced Persons and Refugees, which has so far included the reconstruction of housing facilities in about 70 municipalities across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
