The Second Steering Committee Meeting of HF 20 Action “Preventing and Combating Trafficking in Human Beings in Bosnia and Herzegovina“ took place in Sarajevo on 27 January 2020. Representatives of all partner institution participated in the meeting.
Results of the Action from the previous period were presented, achievements assessed as well as challenges related to the implementation of the activities. Participants were informed about progress related to adaptation of the HELP platform to BiH specificities and planned launching of online courses in March 2020. Also, information was shared in regard to announced public call for grants for NGOs (the first thematic call „Regional awareness raising campaign on trafficking in human beings for the purpose of labour exploitation in Bosnia and Herzegovina“) as well as in regard to initiation of the gender analysis of the anti-trafficking field in Bosnia and Herzegovina, both in December 2019.
The main discussion was focused on the researches that started in December 2019 – research studies in the area of preventing and combating trafficking in human beings for the purpose of labour exploitation and on the phenomenon of child trafficking – whose recommendations will have an impact on the design of the activities of the Action in the next two years. Consultants/experts conducting research on trafficking in human beings for the purpose of labour exploitation, presented their outlines and methodology aiming for the input from the Steering Committee members in regard to possible modifications or additions that would contribute to the quality of research. Due to the long term impact and sustainability of the activities that will be conducted in the next period, it was proposed to explore more in-depth labour exploitation of our citizens abroad and to extend deadline for the completion of the research.
Steering Committee members discussed proposed Work Plan for the upcoming period (January-June 2020), discussed type and pace of the proposed activities and upon reached agreement, adopted it. It was agreed that the next Steering Committee meeting would be held in June 2020.
