Federation of BiH records Significant Increase in Tourist Arrivals

The total number of tourist arrivals in September 2023 in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was 140,336, which is 25.4 percent more than in September 2022, and 18.4 percent less than in August 2023. The share of domestic tourists in the total number of arrivals was 24.9 percent, and foreign tourists 75.1 percent.

The total number of overnight stays by tourists in FBiH in September 2023 was 272,167, which is 20 percent more compared to September 2022, and compared to August 2023, it is 31.7 percent less. The participation of domestic tourists in the total number of overnight stays was 24.8 percent, and foreign tourists 75.2 percent.

According to the type of accommodation facility, the largest number of overnight stays was realized within the type of Hotels and similar accommodation with a participation of 95.6 percent.

In the structure of overnight stays by foreign tourists, the most overnight stays were made by tourists from: Saudi Arabia (10.7 percent), Turkey (8.9 percent), Croatia (7.4 percent), Germany (6.3 percent) and the United States of America (5 .2 percent) which is a total of 38.5 percent. Tourists from other countries accounted for 61.5 percent of overnight stays, according to data from the Federal Bureau of Statistics.

The number of available beds in September 2023 was 30,676, which is 2.1 percent more than in September 2022.

The net occupancy rate for hotels and similar accommodation in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in September was 32.9 percent.
