At the Police Academy of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs (FMUP) in Sarajevo, the 29th generation of cadets for the rank of “junior inspector” from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton was promoted, as well as the 46th generation of cadets for the initial rank of “police officer” from the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton of Goražde.
The best cadet of the 46th generation for the initial rank of “police officer” Armin Ahmetović emphasized that discipline, unity and professionalism are important in the work of a police officer.
“Standing before you today as the best cadet of this generation is a great honor for me, but also a reminder of the obligation that comes with a uniform. The FMUP Police Academy taught us discipline, knowledge and responsibility, but above all, it taught us that service to the homeland and people must be honorable and selfless,” said cadet Ahmetović.
Special awards from the FMUP Police Academy were given to cadets: Alem Murtić and Armin Ahmetović (Golden Badge), Antonela Nikolić, Armin Silajđija, Anel Sipović, Dženana Lagumdžija, Nadir Muratspahić and Amer Mićivoda (Silver Badge), and Tarik Pašalić and Bakir Emša (Best Shooter).
According to the ratings, the best cadet of the 29th generation is Alem Murtić, while the title of the best cadet of the 46th generation was won by Armin Ahmetović.
Cadet for the rank of “junior inspector” Antonela Nikolić said that the time spent at the FMUP Police Academy was a valuable experience for her, filled with learning, challenges and friendships that she will carry with her forever.
“We owe a special thanks to the director, heads of departments, lecturers and commanders who have shown exceptional professionalism and humanity. I am proud to have been part of this generation of cadets and to have had the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills that will be the foundation for future work,” said Nikolić.
The ceremony was attended by numerous high-ranking officials, representatives of international organizations, the academic community, and families and friends of the cadets, who, with their presence, made this important event for the police community and security structures of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina even more special. Addresses were given by the Head of the Council of Europe Office, Bojana Urumova, and the Deputy Ambassador of the OSCE Mission to BiH, Zahid Movlazade, whose representatives participated in the development of modern curricula at the Police Academy of the FMUP.
Federal Minister of the Interior Ramo Isak said that young cadets are the guarantor of the security of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“I am proud of the fact that you had the opportunity to train in accordance with the new curriculum, which is aligned with European standards. I am particularly pleased with the praise from international partners for the quality of training provided by the Police Academy of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs since the beginning of this training. You are the pride not only of your families but also of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. You have an honorable but also demanding mission ahead of you – to be guardians of the law, security and rights of every citizen. The Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs will continue to support your professional development because we want a strong and modern police force in the service of the state and its people. Be proud of the uniforms you wear and represent them with dignity in your work,” said Minister Isak.
The Director of the FMUP Police Academy, Ervin Mušinlović, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Council of Europe, the OSCE Mission to BiH, the US Embassy, the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, who, together with the FMUP Police Academy, created the Basic Police Training Curriculum for the initial rank of “police officer” and the Basic Police Training Curriculum for the rank of “junior inspector”.
