Yesterday, strong police forces were present from the early morning hours in the center of Prijedor, and especially in the City Square, since three rallies were announced for yesterday.
The first rally was held to mark World No-Tobacco Day (May 31st).
The second rally was organized as ‘the celebration of the birthday of the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, and the owner of TV Pink, Zeljko Mitrovic, as well as the celebration of five years since the inauguration of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic,’ – and no one was present.
From noon to 1 p.m. a third rally was held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the beginning of the systematic ethnic cleansing of Prijedor from the non-Serb population.
To recall, the head of the Prijedor Police Department, Sretoje Vujanovic, banned a peaceful walk on the occasion of the White Ribbon Day.
On May 31st, 1992, Bosnian Serb authorities in Prijedor issued an order via local radio ordering non-Serbs to mark their homes with white flags or sheets and to wear white ribbons around their sleeves as they left their homes.
In the continuation of this bloody plan, 3.176 people were killed, including 102 children, Klix.ba writes.
