Festival “Baščaršijske noći (Baščaršija Nights)” begins

bascarsija11Twenty-first festival “Baščaršija Nights (Baščaršijske noći)” was officially opened last night, on the 1st of July, at the National Theatre Sarajevo with concert of Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra, under the title “Greetings from Austria”.

With the orchestra also performed the conductor and soloists from Austria, Hungary and Australia: Brigitta Simon, soprano (Hungary), concert master, violinist Anne Harvey-Nagl (Australia) and conductor Uwe Theimer (Austria).

The audience had the opportunity to hear the popular opera arias and the most beautiful compositions of authors such as: J. Straus, J. Lanner, N. Dostal, W. Jelinek, F. Lehar, C. Millocker, J. Offenbach, R. Stolz.

The concert was organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in BiH.

Entrance to the concert was free of charge.
