hrvatski-festival-hrane-i-vina-001The BiH festival of wine and food was opened in Tuzla last night. This unique event in the Bosnian Cultural Center in Tuzla brought the most tasty wines and delicatessen made by more than 30 domestic producers.

The aim of this event is to present to domestic production and raise awareness of citizens in terms of consummation and purchase of domestic products because, according to the organizers, BiH has quality products which are competitive on markets outside of BiH borders.

According to Adnan Aliefendić, president of the Association BH Festival, said that in addition to the tasting of the best wines and delicatessen this festival also provides an opportunity for exchange of opinions, making of new friendships, and launching new businesses.

Radovan Vukoje, owner of the winery Podrumi Vukoje 1982 from Trebinje, is one of this year’s exhibitors. According to him, the crowd on the first festival night shows the extent of expansion of wine industry in BiH.

“This festival is specific because it unites domestic producers who work on the promotion of our country. I am honored to present my wines in one such ambience and to this many people,” said Vukoje, who thinks that BiH needs more festivals like this one.

Mayor of Tuzla Jasmin Imamović is proud for having one such festival taking place precisely in that city.

“It is evident that production and economy integrate us. If we purchase domestic products, we will increase production and number of employed people in BiH,” said Imamović.

On the second day of the festival, today, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the ways in which food and wines are harmonized, to attend promotion of autochthonous wines and to participate in cooking workshops with famous chefs.
