The fifth edition of the medieval “Stolačka tarča” fair, where knights from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovakia and Romania will be present in the following two days in the old town of Vidosko above Stolac.

The member of the group of knights “Knights of Stjepan Kosaca” from Stolac, Ante Vujnovic, assessed that this is the first medieval event in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Stolac is slightly rising from the ashes and becoming a tourist destination, and during these five years of Stolacki Tarca we managed to gather the wider public and visitors to Stolac,” said Vujnovic.

He emphasized that through this event they will try to revive the old town of Vidoski as well as the Middle Ages.

“We have 15 knights, and we are particularly pleased to have this year for the first time a group of knights from Romania who found us and expressed their interest in Stolacki Tarca, which means that all the effort we have invested in these years has been recognized,” said Vujnovic.

Prime Minister of Hercegovačko-Neretvanska County, Nevenko Herceg, stated that the Stolacki Tarca revives the spirit of the Middle Ages and the times of Duke Stjepan Kosaca.

This event, in addition to preserving rich historical and cultural heritage, it also promotes general human and civilizational values and contributes to stronger economic and especially tourist development.
