Fifty families of refugees and displaced persons in Prijedor received keys for apartments in the building that was constructed within the Regional Housing Program in BiH.

Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, Semiha Borovac, expressed her pleasure with the fact that 50 families will finally solve their housing issue thanks to the State Project of Housing Care within the Regional Housing Program.

She further emphasized the importance of the Regional Housing Program as the most important post-war project for the support to returnees, i.e. the implementation of Annex VII of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

Minister Borovac also added that this project represents the initiative of BiH, Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro, and she noted that cooperation between partner countries contributes to restoring mutual trust, regional stability, and promotion of peace and coexistence in BiH and the region.

The construction of 27 buildings with a total of 552 apartments intended for the accommodation of internally displaced families and families of refugees from Croatia in BiH, is planned with the subproject BiH3, whose value amounts to about 34 million BAM.

Besides this building, another building with 32 apartments is constructed in the town of Prijedor, as well as three buildings in Banja Luka (48 apartments), Bijeljina and Derventa (30 apartments), Gradiska (32 apartments), Bileca and Brod (15 apartments), Vlasenica (20 apartments), Foca (12 apartments), Prnjavor (14 apartments) and the Municipality of East Novo Sarajevo (6 apartments).

Currently, there are construction of buildings taking place in Zenica (62 apartments), Olovo (16 apartments), Jajce (seven apartments), Gorazde and Kakanj (20 apartments) and there is another building constructed in Tuzla with 34 apartments. A total of 16 apartments will be constructed in two buildings in the Brcko District of BiH.
