The Minister of Civil Affairs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sredoje Nović, signed today the ” Child Survival Commitment- A Promise Renewed” in Sarajevo. The aim of this commitment is the improvement of child protection and prevention of child mortality rate.

With the act of signing this document, Bosnia and Herzegovina has joined the world movement that encompassed eighty countries worldwide.

The Minister Nović said that the Council of Ministers in Bosnia and Herzegovina or the Ministry of Civil Affairs in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been working on the improvement of child protection, in the coordination with the entity’s health, education and social protection ministries and in accordance with the division for health and education of Brčko District.

He also reminded that Bosnia and Herzegovina had signed the ratification of the Convention on Children Rights in 1993, according to which it is obligated to secure the rights of every child. “Investing in children is investing in future”- said Minister Nović.

With the act of signing this document, the countries take responsibility to intensify their efforts directed towards lowering and preventing child mortality.
