For the first time, Bosnia and Herzegovina had its official presentation at the International Tourism Fair in Izmir. The International Tourism Fair was organized by the Turkish Association of Tourist Agencies (TURSA) that lasted from the 6th till 9th December and held at the Izmir International Fair (IEF).

The support for the Bosnia and Herzegovina’s tourist sector was the delegation of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism, presided by the Minister Branka Đurić. During the Izmir International Fair, the Minister Branka Đurić held several bilateral meetings. During the meeting of Đurić and the Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Ertugrul Gunay, it is stated that tourism is the most successful branch of economy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Minister Đurić expressed her gratitude to Minister Gunay for the support of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism to the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to Đurić, Bosnia and Herzegovina has a great chance on the tourist market, and the experience of Turkey will certainly help Bosnia and Herzegovina find its own place on the tourist market of Europe.

Minister Đurić also had a meeting with the Mayor of Izmir, Aziz Kocaoglu, who thanked her for the visit to their tourist fair. During her stay in Izmir, Minister Đurić also visited the President of the Board of directors of the Economic Chamber of Izmir, Ekrem Demiritas, with whom she talked about the current state of tourism in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the difficulties it faces.

On that occasion, she also said that the tourist sector in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is lacking the fresh capital and direct investment in its promotion and tourist infrastructure.

Minister Đurić also had a meeting with the president of the Board of directors of the Aegean Association for Catering and Tourist Companies (ETIK), Mehmed Isler. During this meeting they discussed about their collaboration and the possible agreement on joint projects in the tourist sector.
