The Federal Police Administration /FUP/ has been searching the premises of the Neum municipality and the utility company since this morning and temporarily seized documentation that could serve as evidence in the investigation of illegal dumping of waste from Croatia in the Neum area.

The municipality of Neum has an agreement on the disposal of waste from the Dubrovnik area, but according to the information that is being checked, up to 20 times more waste is brought to the Neum area per week than stipulated in the agreement.

Investigators are checking the circumstances under which waste from Croatia was delivered to Bosnia and Herzegovina and disposed of in the area of Neum.

The action is being carried out by order of the Special Department for Suppression of Corruption, Organized and Intercantonal Crime /POSKOK/, the media reported.
