Retail prices of petroleum products in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina rose steadily throughout September and are currently about 10 percent higher on average than at the beginning of the month.
According to data from the Federal Ministry of Trade, the average retail price of diesel today stands at 3.79 KM per liter, an increase of 0.36 KM – or 10.5 percent – compared to September 1.
During the same period, the price of Super 95 gasoline rose by 0.29 KM (9.5 percent), climbing from 3.06 KM to the current 3.35 KM per liter.
Although global crude oil prices are currently slightly lower than they were in mid-September, a drop in retail prices at gas stations in BiH depends on several key factors: primarily the time lag required to sell off previously acquired stocks, as well as fluctuations in the US dollar exchange rate and refinery margins.
If the downward trend in global market prices continues, a stabilization and slight decrease in prices at gas stations in the Federation of BiH can be expected in the coming period.
