The fire in the Canyon of the Hrcavka River in the “Sutjeska” National Park is under control, said Milan Novitovic, Acting Director of the Republican Administration of Civil Protection in Srna.

He said that it had rained in Tjentiste and in the Hrcavka region itself, and that the air temperature was lower than the previous day.

“There is no wind, so there is no fanning of the fire, which is under control,” added Novitovic.

He says that “Sutjeska” National Park workers are on the ground.

“They are divided into two groups. One goes from Hrčavka to the middle level of the fire, while the other goes from the top to the middle,” Novitović said.

He stated that the helicopter of the Helicopter Service of the Republika Srpska, which was extinguishing the fire in the “Sutjeska” National Park, flew to the “Blidinje” National Park, on the Cvrsnica mountain, where, as expected, after 5:00 p.m. it should be involved in extinguishing fire.
