A large forest fire in the area of Konjic affected residential and auxiliary buildings, it was confirmed for Federal Television.
As they were told, the mayor of Konjic, Osman Ćatić, sent a request for the engagement of international assistance in extinguishing the fire that engulfed the locality above the village of Kanjina and is spreading towards the village of Brđani.
The fire has been going on for six days, and its official cause has not yet been confirmed. It is assumed that the fire was caused by dry vegetation along the railway belt, which caught fire in three locations after the train passed by.
The helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina provides aerial support to firefighting units in extinguishing fires.
Due to the inaccessible terrain, high temperatures, strong wind and the intensity of the fire, the existing capacities are not sufficient for its efficient extinguishing.
