First Regional Conference of Student Associations

Two delegates from each association of students of the Faculty of Political Sciences from Ljubljana, Zagreb, Banja Luka, Belgrade, Podgorica, Skopje and Sarajevo attended the conference of the leaders of the associations of students of the Faculty of Political Sciences of the countries of ex-Yugoslavia, which was held from the 7th till the 9th December 2012, at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo. This conference was organized by the Association of Students of the Faculty of Political Sciences ”SPONA”

Diplomatic representative of the Embassies of the participant’s countries attended the opening ceremony of the conference. Professor Srebrenka Viđen addressed the attending students and talked about the initiative of the student conference. The conference encompassed discussions about the student standards, the organization and involvement of the student associations in the working process of the management of the faculties as well as general environment of the lectures.

The main event of the conference was the implementation of the declaration about international collaboration and possible regional merger of the student associations from the Faculty of Political Sciences. All participants have officially signed the declaration.

This conference presents a very important step towards the regional merger of the student associations in general, and in the creation of a strong network of student activism.
