First Snow on Prokosko Lake

After the first snowflakes appeared on the Olympic mountains Igman and Bjelasnica yesterday, the snow covered the area of Prokosko Lake, and the first glaciers can be seen on local houses.

The houses around Prokosko Lake were completely white, and due to the snowfall, visibility was significantly reduced.

The drop in temperatures caused precipitation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and the first snow of this season fell in most mountainous areas.

Earlier in the day, snowflakes whitened Bjelasnica and Igman, and on Friday night the “snow season was opened” on Jahorina.

Precipitation also affects traffic, which is why the BIHAMK report explains that in the higher mountainous areas of Bosnia, light snow occasionally falls, which makes the road wet and slippery in places.

Drivers are advised to drive with maximum caution, to keep a distance between vehicles, and to avoid risky overtaking, Klix.ba writes.
