Five Companies from BiH among 50 largest Companies in the Region

elektroThe French loan insurance group “Coface” published a list of 50 largest companies in the Balkans based on the generated turnover. Five companies from BiH are on the list and they are led by the Public Enterprise Elektroprivreda BiH.

Elektroprivreda BIH is the best ranked company from BiH, at the 26th place with total turnover of 486.9 million EUR. In comparison with last year’s list of 50 largest companies, Elektroprivreda BIH progressed by five places. This public enterprise hires 4.837 workers.

When it comes to other companies from BiH, Holdina Ltd. Sarajevo is on the 31st place with a total turnover of 435.9 million EUR. This company regressed by five places in comparison with last year’s list, with a turnover that is more than 80 million EUR lower than in 2015. Holdina hired 485 workers in 2015.

Retail chain Konzum Ltd. Sarajevo achieved great progress, taking the 32nd place with total annual turnover of 434.6 million EUR and 4.380 workers. For comparison, Konzum was 49th last year with a turnover of 355 million EUR.

Retail chain Bingo Ltd. Tuzla found itself on the list of 50 largest companies in the Balkans for the first time. Bingo is 34th with total annual turnover of 410.8 million EUR. According to data, Bingo had 4.465 employees last year.

The fifth company from BiH on this prestigious list is Optima Group from Banja Luka, with a turnover of 359.8 million EUR and 128 workers. This company is 49th on this year’s list, while last year they were on the 27th place with a turnover of 523 million EUR.

It is expected that economic activity in the Balkan region will be stable this year as well.
