Five hundred miners will gather in front of the Federation of BiH on Tuesday, and will demand for Prime Minister Fadil Novalić and minister Nermin Dzindic to meet representatives of the Union.

“At that meeting, they would discuss the solution to the Zenica and Breza coal mines, and the collective agreement, which expires on the 11th of this month,” union president Sinan Husic said in Breza on Monday.

The protests will start at 10:00 o’clock.

Husic said this while commenting on meeting on Monday at the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry, where he met with minister with representatives of the Elektroprivreda BiH, FBiH PUs and management of the Zenica and Breza mines in order to find a solution for blocking the accounts of the Breza and Zenica mines.

On September 7th, miners of Zenica Coal Mine have stopped their work in all the pits on Friday after mine’s accounts were blocked and contributions were not paid to workers.

The strike was announced by miners from the Breza mine.

Nearly 2,800 miners from Zenica and Breza suspend production in all pits due to unpaid money after the Tax Administration blocked accounts for the mines due to taxes and contributions in excess of 200 million BAM.

The meeting of the miners with the representatives of Federal Government is scheduled for September 9th.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federation of BiH Federation of Independent Miners, Sinan Husic, said that an agreement was signed on Friday to perform minimal work at a mine in Zenica during a strike by miners.
