Former American President Jimmy Carter, who died on December 29, was said goodbye today in the National Cathedral in Washington by family and dignitaries, including the President of the United States of America (USA) Joseph Biden, who remembered the 39th American President as a man who was “in the peace of a fully fulfilled life”.

Biden spoke about the last visit to Carter and said that he had “a good life, a purpose and a sense of character guided by the power of faith, hope and love”.

The late president’s grandson, Jason Carter, recalled fond memories of his grandfather, whom he called “Pawpaw.”

Speaking about Carter’s clean energy and marijuana decriminalization efforts, he said his grandfather “was the first millennial.”

Former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, along with President-elect Donald Trump, also attended the funeral in Washington, reports AP.

Carter died on December 29 last year at the age of 100.
