The Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska (RS), Radovan Viskovic, left for an official visit to Russia. As announced by the Government of the RS, he will be in Russia from October 11thto 13th, 2023, at the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Aleksandar Novak.
Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic will attend the 6th Russian Energy Week in Moscow, during which he will address numerous participants from Russia and the world on a panel entitled “Global oil and gas market: How to get through a period of turbulence?”. He will also attend the plenary session, which will be chaired by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
During the working visit to the Russian Federation, Viskovicwill talk with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Aleksandar Novak, and have a series of bilateral meetings with businessmen from the Russian Federation.
“The 6th Russian Energy Week is the main international event dedicated to the most current issues in the energy sector, which this year takes place from October 11th-13th in Moscow. The Russian Energy Week will bring together representatives of the Russian federal authorities, directors of major energy companies, industry organizations and the media community. The forum will present the future of Russia’s energy sector and the potential for connected international cooperation in the new geopolitical environment. Other significant topics on the agenda of the Forum include improvements in the production of electricity, oil and gas, the chemical and coal sectors, as well as import substitution, digital transformation, energy transition and the issue of climate”, according to the RS Government.
To recall, in May of this year, the President of the RS Milorad Dodik visited Vladimir Putin, and then he stated that “RSremains persistently pro-Russian, anti-Western and anti-American”. This meeting was sharply criticized by the European Union (EU) and the United States (U.S.).
Russia is under numerous sanctions due to the invasion of Ukraine, but this is not a problem for RS officials, even though certain EU projects have been stopped for them precisely because of their open support for Putin. In the end, the only ones who suffer are the citizens, N1 reports.
