According to the information available to the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Cairo, there have been no deaths or injuries among BiH citizens in the Gaza Strip.
“We have certain contacts with our citizens who are in the territory of Gaza. Twenty-seven people have expressed an interest in being evacuated from the Gaza Strip,” BiH Ambassador to Egypt Sabit Subašić told Fena news agency in a telephone conversation from Cairo.
He stated that the Embassy is in very close cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and they are in constant contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, which should be the bearer of the evacuation process at the border itself.
“For now, we do not have any precise information on when the evacuation will take place, it is no longer in the hands of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina or any other embassy. There are a large number of embassies that are in the same position as us, that have their own people in the Gaza area and all of them willingly we expect the evacuation to be completed,” Ambassador Subašić said.
According to him, nothing is definitive yet, nothing has been resolved yet.
“Fortunately, according to the information we have, our people there are in good condition. There were no bad events as far as our people are concerned, neither wounded nor killed,” said Ambassador Subašić, Fena writes.
