wizzairGovernment of Canton Tuzla adopted the business plan of International Airport Tuzla (IAT) for 2017.

“The plan envisages an increase in total revenues by 54 % compared to the year of 2016”, said the director of IAT, Rifat Karasalihovic.

After the session, he announced valuable investment during the next year, which is related to the expansion and reconstruction of the existing terminal.

According to him, this investment will amount to about 5 million BAM, and 50 % of the funds should be financed from the budget of the Federal and Cantonal governments, and 50 % should be financed by International Airport Tuzla.

Karasalihovic claims that this airport was forced to such an investment, due to the large increase in number of passengers compared to last year.

During this year was planned 305,000 passengers, which, as he said, is likely to be realized, and International Tuzla Airport is planning 480,000 passengers in the following year.

“Considering the increase in the number of frequencies from IAT, and we will be able to fly to 16 destinations from March 2017, so that the entire Western Europe will be associated with Canton Tuzla,” added Karasalihovic.

Asked about the approach lights at the airport, he said the technical details and works on the project of introducing the access light on IAT are technically completed.

It is expected that on the 15th of January 2017 will be made official release of approach lights in the function.
