Foreign Companies Plan Investments In BiH Of 163 Million Euros

As part of the Aftercare program for 2024, the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA BiH) visited 30 companies with foreign capital, with total realized investments amounting to 727.4 million euros (1.4 billion BAM), employing 5.683 workers.

Out of that number, 5.417 workers are newly employed, while 266 were taken over through privatization or acquisition. Planned investments in the next three years amount to 163.4 million euros, and 1.777 new jobs are expected to be created.

Out of the 30 visited companies, 21 of them, or 70 percent, are from the manufacturing sector. Realized investments within manufacturing are 569.9 million euros (initial investments 172.6 million euros and reinvestments 397.3 million euros).

A total of 3.074 workers are employed, of which 2.946 are new jobs and 128 are taken-over workers. In the next three years, investments within manufacturing in the amount of 123.1 million euros and employment for 1.340 new workers are planned.

Out of 21 manufacturing companies, only three stated that they do not plan reinvestments and an increase in the number of workers, while 18 companies, or 85.7 percent, plan growth and new employment.

The Aftercare program represents a systemic activity that monitors investments after their realization. The main goal is maintaining contact with investors, helping to solve problems, and creating a stimulating environment for their expansion and reinvestment.
