Formation of Special Team of UIO and B&H Prosecutor’s Office for Detecting Tax Evasion

uskokThe Chief Prosecutor of B&H Goran Salihović and the Director of the Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO) Miro Džakula held a meeting, where they agreed on concrete activities in the formation of a special team based on the model of the work of USKOK in Croatia.

At the meeting, they determined a team of eight specialized staff of UIOBiH, and a coordinator, who will, together with the head of the special department for organized crime, economic crime and corruption and the prosecutors from the department of economic crime of B&H Prosecutor’s Office work on detecting and prosecuting criminal tax evasion and failure to pay taxes.

In this way, they will work based on the model of USKOK Croatia, and this would allow a more efficient fight against tax evasion, which is harmful to the budget of B&H and all B&H citizens.

The team of UIOBiH will be in constant contact with the B&H Prosecutor’s Office, and will cooperation daily in investigations aimed at detecting tax evasion.
