The High Court in Belgrade acquitted two former Serbian police officers of charges of revealing an official secret, in connection with their activities during the visit of the then Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, to Potocari in 2015.

Judge Zoran Djordjevic stressed that it had been determined that they were not guilty of the criminal offense of revealing an official secret, because the prosecution had not proved that the Serbian Ministry of the Interior had harmful consequences after that, Klix.ba writes.

The verdict against Mladen Trbovic and Milan Dumanovic was made public, in accordance with the law, despite the fact thatthis procedure was closed to the public from the beginning, due to the protection of “national security and legitimate interest in a democratic society”, ie the confidentiality of official secrets.

Only the operative part of the verdict was made public without explanation, also for the protection of data confidentiality.

Dumanovic and Trbovic are charged with the criminal offense of revealing an official secret, ie because they gave secret information in their statements to the media regarding their work in Potocari, on July 11th, 2015, when the then Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic was attacked, RTV Serbia reports.
