High-ranking Officials visit the Helicopter Squadron of AFBiH Air Force and Air Defense Brigade

On Thursday, the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH), Colonel General Senad Masovic, and the Commander of the National Guard (NG) Maryland, Major General Timothy E. Gowen and his associates, visited the 2nd Helicopter Squadron of the Air Force and Air Defense Brigade of the AFBiH.

On that occasion, through the informative briefing of the 2nd Helicopter Squadron, they were introduced to the current activities and mission, as well as life and work in this unit.

A tour of the hangar with helicopters was also carried out, which for this occasion were equipped for operations MEZP (medical evacuation by air), SAR (search and rescue) and firefighting tasks.

During the visit, high-ranking officials had the opportunity to get acquainted with the new UH-1H II helicopters donated bythe United States (U.S.) and their operational capabilities.

”We hope that this visit will be an occasion for new cooperation, joint training, and also strengthening of good relations between the AFBiH and the Maryland NG, especially in the field of training and education of AFBiH members through air force development programs,” it was jointly assessed during this visit.

”This visit is a confirmation of the commitment and level of cooperation with a very clear commitment to its strengthening, ” it was told by the Public Relations Office of the Ministry of Defense of BiH.
