b_160907093Everyone who visits BiH and sees its beauty remains enchanted. Those who do not want to come back are rare. One of the men who fell in love with this country is Sascha Nagel from Germany, who came to BiH after the war as a member of SFOR, in 1997 and 1998.

Although that was a difficult period for the country that was just getting used to life without the sounds of grenades, detonations, planes and tanks, and with a large number of the country destroyed, Nagel felt the soul of BiH.

“I was in the German contingent of SFOR and I fell in love with the country. I was not here for a long time, and then with my friends all over the world I launched social projects for BiH. In the first donation, we brought school bags, computers, toys and other items to schools in Zenica and Sarajevo. We performed that action with the help of the Red Cross Novo Sarajevo and Red Cross Zenica,” Nagel said.

Nagel and his friends also undertook some action when BiH faced the worst floods of the century, in 2014. They organized a campaign and sent aid to the damaged areas.

Furthermore, Nagel organizes football camps for Football Club Respect, whose members are children with developmental disabilities, members of national minorities, children with difficult economic situation, as well as children who have all they need.

“The main aim is for all the children to have fun in the nature and paly the best game in the world, football, for three days. During those three days, they do not worry about religion, origin or skin color. Football connects people,” Nagel said.

This project has full support of the Embassy of Germany in BiH, construction company CIMIC, and a large number of sponsors and donors, both foreign and domestic.

Nagel will continue working on projects for children and he already has the next ones – gift boxes for children in the Football School Respect, blind children, and children who receive aid from the Red Cross Novo Sarajevo. Nagel invited all private businessmen, authorities and people of good will to help in the implementation of this project within which they will make many children happy.
