Forum For Prosperity and Jobs in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday and Tuesday in Sarajevo

eu-zastava-flagFollowing the Conclusions of the EU Foreign Affairs Council published in April 2014, and their call for a broader EU-BiH agenda, the EUSR will convene a major conference aimed at helping the economic recovery of Bosnia and Herzegovina on May 26 and 27, 2014.

A Forum for Prosperity and Jobs will aim to identify measures that would attract investment, broaden access to economic opportunity, spur the creation of jobs and enhance social protection.

The Forum is organised in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Embassy of the United States of America.

The Forum will convene other interested parties and the broader citizenry of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the purpose of identifying a package of concrete policies and measures to help the country’s economy recently seriously affected by the devastating floods. The Forum will be opened today by:

H.E. Ambassador Peter Sorensen, European Union Special Representative

H.E. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Foreign Minister, Federal Republic of Germany

H.E. Ali Babacan, Deputy Prime Minister, Republic of Turkey

H.E. Vjekoslav Bevanda, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina

H.E. Bakir Izetbegović, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Closing Addresses will be held by:

Mr. Christian Danielsson, Director General, Directorate-General Enlargement, European Commission

Mr. Kemal Kozaric, Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina

H.E. Valentin Inzko, High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina

H.E. Zlatko Lagumdžija, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Presentation of a Compact for Growth in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be chaired by:

H.E. Ambassador Peter Sorensen, European Union Special Representative
