Fourteen New Cases of Coronavirus confirmed in Canton Sarajevo

In the past 24 hours, 14 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton, while 32 people recovered in the same period. Of this number of newly infected, 11 or 73.3 percent, belong to family clusters or contacts with previously infected persons, which is why they are in self-isolation from before. One patient who was infected with this virus died.

In the past day, 412 tests for coronavirus were processed. Today, Sarajevo Canton records 341 active cases of COVID-19 infection. The total number of infected so far is 52,378 and the total number of cured is 50,773. Currently, 3,105 of our fellow citizens are in self-isolation.

According to the data of the Institute of Public Health of CS, in the past seven days, the average number of infected is 16, while the weekly incidence, ie the number of patients per 100,000 inhabitants, is 27.

Currently, 77 people are hospitalized in CS, 27 at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, and at the General Hospital “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakas ”50 patients.

There are four patients who use respirators, two at KCUS and two at the General Hospital. At the same time, four patients use oxygen support to breathe above 15 liters per minute at the KCUS, and six at the General Hospital. In the past 24 hours, 2 people were released from hospitalization.

The Ministry of Health of CS and health institutions thank the citizens and ask them to continue to respect all prescribed hygienic and epidemiological measures.
