Fr. Mate Vincetic, parish vicar in Plehan near Derventa and military chaplain in Vinkovci, who spoke in a very insulting manner to Muslim migrants coming to Europe, apologized.

“I sincerely apologize to everyone who perceived my words from the clip of the aforementioned sermon as a violation of religious and other human feelings. That was by no means the intention of this sermon of mine and of the clip that was shown publicly,” Fr. Vincetic stated.

He added that he used “harsh words”, and that it was a bad example.

In the end, he expressed deep regret for his “harsh words” that offended members of other religions.

“I deeply regret it if these ‘harsh words’ and a bad example of mine have offended religious and human feelings among members of other religions, creeds, or non-believers. Anyone who listened to my entire sermon will know that I spoke about the universality of the Christian message sent by Jesus to people of all times and places, as well as the fact that faith in God for us believers and followers of Jesus Christ is a “conditio sine qua non” both for a happy earthly life and a blessed heavenly life,” Fr. Vincetic concluded, Klix.ba reports.
