In The Framework of Peace Event 190 Different Programs Organized

peace event“This year’s “Peace Event” held in Sarajevo, gathered numerous world, eminent personalities, Nobel prize winners, peacemakers, defenders of women’s human rights, peace advocates who fight against nuclear weapons, war, militarism and violence. Without doubt, Sarajevo has been a world center of peace events”, said the local coordinator of Peace Event, Medina Mujić.

In the last four days, for how long this comprehensive event lasted, more than 190 workshops were held. In addition numerous seminars, educational dialogues, roundtables on various thematic units such as the culture of peace and non-violence, peace and social justice, reconciliation and dealing with the past, gender equality, women and peace, militarism and alternatives to militarism, were held as well.

Additionally, the educational workshops on the topic of “With Comics Against Violence”, was held. Namely, the aim is to encourage children, as well as young people to use their creativity and imagination in order to begin to think critically about the phenomenon of the society in which they live.

This team wants to be the driver of peace which would help in stopping wars, discrimination of any type and which will preserve in the fight to allow everyone to have equal rights and opportunities, added Mujic.
