European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Štefan Fule met today in Sarajevo with the Chairman of the B&H Council of Ministers Vjekoslav Bevanda and the Entity Prime Ministers Nermin Nikšić and Željka Cvijanović and before that he had a constructive and interesting meeting with representatives of civil society organizations in B&H.
Representatives of the Plenum attended this meeting as well.
According to him, it is obvious that the political system in B&H has to become more responsible for all the citizens of B&H. It is very significant to be taken into consideration that the B&H political system should become more responsible in terms of what is important for citizens, to create conditions for more working places, a more efficient judiciary system and fair opportunities in the lives of citizens.
“I would like to call on politicians in B&H to not ignore the voice of the citizens. There is a lot of important space, a space for engagement of citizens and their voice should be heard. Citizens should be involved and they should be able to do so without fear or any kind of violence and persecution. Also, conditions should be created to avoid violence from either sides, because for us the use of violence is completely unacceptable”, said Fule.
He emphasized that the result of last night’s meeting with political leaders on implementation of the judgement of the European Court in Strasbourg on the case “Sejdić-Finci” was “very disappointing”.
Commissioner Fule, among other things, said that he has concluded his involvement in regards to this issue.
